About tuned-in.tech and Tech in the Music Room
I believe that technology is an incredible resource that can be used in the music classroom to enhance and transform the music learning experience for students. Integrating technology in thoughtful and effective ways can provide more in-depth and engaging student-led activities. In addition, it can provide music teachers with an incredible array of authentic musical examples, classroom organizational tools, and communication and professional development opportunities.
Technology need not be a part of every lesson, as singing, playing instruments, creating music, moving to music, and listening to music should still be at the heart of the music experience for students. However, this website is meant to provide a window into the how technology developed in music education, current trends and challenges with technology, the SAMR model of tech integration to improve student outcomes, and eight free example lesson plans for the elementary music classroom.
